Oh Happy Day!

It is a sun-shiny fall day here in Michigan.   I so enjoy the sun as long as I can here as I know it's days are limited are are soon drawing to an end and the snow will fly.  I am NOT looking forward to that.  But more than that...I am NOT looking forward to all forward to all that comes along with the SNOW!  I'm talking boots, gloves (until they get lost), hats, coats, throwing wet snow clothes in the drier, and the added 10 minutes it takes to get everyone dressed!  Ahhhh...I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

So I'm enjoying the fall colors and chill in the air for now!

What better for the cooler weather than a great new pattern to make for the kiddos?!  Even better a BG pattern that has enough variations to KNOCK your sockies off!  Yes the "Henry & Henrietta" Pant pattern is FINALLY making its debut.

I just LOVE this pattern.  Speaking as one of her testers this time around (I was totally giddy about testing...yes I am officially a sewing geek) and this pattern has some GREAT "extras" you will love!  You know how Amy is with her patterns and the great details she puts into her patterns from the cuffs down to the pockets and even buttons.  And if you DON"T know...you NEED this pattern and you WILL!  Here was HBfabrics take on the Henry Pant Pattern...
Does this kid look mischievous to anyone else?  Oh believe this momma...HE IS!!!
Look at the details of the welt pocket...I was so excited I made it and it was so easy.
He loved his new pants and showed them to everyone at the store and to his Nana over in Romania on SKYPE. "My got new pants nana! Wanna see?" He proceeded to shake his tushie in front of the computer screen to show them off.

I made these from some corduroy I had stashed away with some other fabrics I have in the shop!  Of course the Robert Kaufman Metro Living Tiles in Grass for the pockets and then the Carolina Gingham in Cocoa on the cuffs and suspenders which I was dying to use on something. Then I had to add the buttons to the cuff and those of course came from the amazing Little Red Cottage!   I was quite happy with how they turned out.  You have done it again Brownie-Goose.

So the NEWS you have been waiting for as you were reading through my entire post...WE ARE TEAMING UP AGAIN!  BG and HB are at it again:)  And I am so thrilled.  The pattern will debut in her etsy shop on Wednesday Morning October 17th and if you buy the "Henry & Henrietta" Pattern within the first 3 days of its release you will be e-mailed a coupon code from BG that will give you 10% off anything in HBfabrics store!!!  The coupon will be good through the weekend and will expire Sunday October 21st at 10 pm EST (I just can't stay up till midnight I am sorry:)

We have so many great cottons to use on these pants...I am serious and great deals.  Have you checked out the END OF BOLT section and the $6.50/yd or LESS section? Some great deals.  So get ready to buy that pattern and head on over to HBfabrics and grab the perfect pieces to get some pants on those kiddos for the fall!  We are so excited for this sale and we know you will be two...who doesn't like a NEW pattern and NEW SALE fabrics...ALL in one day!!!

Back to School - Ready to Ship Sale

I realize that many of your kiddos have already entered the school doors for the year.  But here in Michigan we do not go back until after Labor day!  So I am not late, yet.

Hey, as a mom of 3 I am good at procrastination.  Especially since I am not TOTALLY looking forward to my "baby" heading off to all day Kindergarten.  SERIOUSLY, where has the time gone?

So here is the sale.  "Back to School" Ready to Ship backpacks.  These backpacks are all ready to be packaged up and sent to your school bound kiddo!  I love this pattern (compliments of Made by Rae) and it is a great size. Just look how it fits on my boys...

Eli is the curly-lock with the yellow backpack on and he is 2-1/2 and Carter is 5 (my soon to be kindergartener).  They are fully lined with coordinating cotton and are made with high quality canvas on the outside for durability.  And for cute added detail they are fully piped!  Oh how I love the piping:)

Now...I finally have a girl model, however she is still too small to model backpacks.  So, just because boys are modeling these bags do NOT think they are masculine.  They are VERY neutral gender!  Now, the pink ones I probably would NOT send my boys to school with, but I would send any of the other ones with my girl.

We had a blast on a quick photo shoot today.  Here are some sneaks of the bags up for sale tonight.

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE orange!  Oh My goodness...this orange and navy backpack has got be head over heals!  It brings out the nautical in me.  You will see more detail at the sale...but it is fully lined with navy whale fabric.

These boys melt my heart!  They are such great friends and enemies all at the same time.  What would I do without these two hooligns?

This red and yellow treasure is so purty...I cannot get enough of it!  There will be no mistaking this backpack for someone else's on the coat rack at school!
The bag in action...Eli was enjoying being a BIG KID for a few minutes.  I'm in no hurry for this one to head off to school.

But this boy...his days are limited.  Only a few short weeks and this kid will be on the inside of these doors instead of on the outside looking in.  We will miss him when he is gone.
OK...no more mushiness!  This is it for sneak peaks.

Details:  Sale starts at 9 pm EST.
I will post the bag on Facebook and the first one to comment with their paypal address will get it.  First come first serve.

This will be my last sale until the holidays!  Lots going on in the fabric shop...so time to enjoy the kiddos before summer is over and keep up with all the yummy fabric arriving on my doorstep everyday.

HB & BG join forces...

Here at the HB house we are a husband and wife team!  Chris is my wonderful husband who works hard at his full time job and then comes home to help with the kiddos and when all is quiet he also helps with the business!

He of course does all of the accounting and books for the business.  But he also does 95% of all of the cutting, folding and packaging of your wonderful materials!  He folds everything just perfectly and I LOVE him for it!

Well, we have been doing this together about 3 years now.  And one of our first customers was the amazing Brownie-Goose.  She came looking for fabrics and we found a friend!  My mouth drops everytime she comes out with something new.  I find myself thinking..."man if I could be like Amy!"  Just look at some of her patterns and you will be as smitten as me...

The Blondie...I have been just waiting to get this one and make it for sweet Avery.  Just perfect for summer in Michigan!

Or the Summer Sailors...seriously I want these in my size!  These are to die for.  The details of her patterns are some of my favorites out there:)

Anyway...we have decided to join forces with the mom behind BG and offer a discount code when she releases her newest pattern!  WAIT FOR IT....the Tilly!
So when you head on over to BG and purchase her newest pattern.  You will get a special code to get 15% off of your purchase at our etsy shop

Now ladies...I don't even want to say this, BUT I know we ALL love a good coupon code for fabric.  But in order for us to make this work and keep offering discounts we MUST play by the rules:)  Please don't share the code with others that didn't buy the Tilly pattern from BG.  We will be keeping a list of those that have purchased the pattern...so no funny business OK?!  Thanks so much!

Now that that is off my chest!  I couldn't be more excited to work with the lady behind BG and all of her amazing customers.  So stop reading and head on over to BG and grab up your own Tilly pattern and once you get the code come back by to HB and order those fabrics you've been wanting or "needing".  Like these from the Seaside collection from Riley Blake...

Happy Shopping! Enjoy your new BG pattern:)
